Alongside creating the portrait of artist James Fellows during RLB Birmingham office launch, I was also commissioned to document something equally important – their people at work.

These images weren’t staged. There was no directing, no posing and no artificial set-ups. Instead, I worked discreetly within the newly refurbished office to capture authentic moments of RLB staff going about their daily tasks. As a corporate photographer in Birmingham, this approach is often where the strongest storytelling happens. From collaborative conversations at desks to focused project work on screen, the aim was to reflect the genuine energy of the workspace. The new office design with its breakout booths, open-plan desks and thoughtfully designed meeting areas provided a contemporary architectural backdrop. But the real focus was always the people within it. Authentic corporate photography is about trust. When employees feel comfortable and are allowed to work naturally, the resulting imagery feels confident, credible and relatable. These photographs showcase teamwork, concentration and collaboration without forcing narrative or performance.

Lighting was kept natural and sympathetic to the environment, preserving the atmosphere of the refurbished Birmingham office. By blending into the background and observing rather than interrupting, I was able to capture genuine expressions and unscripted interactions, the kind of imagery that works powerfully across websites, recruitment campaigns and LinkedIn content.

For businesses investing in new workspaces, documenting how people inhabit those spaces is just as important as photographing the architecture itself. Prospective clients and future employees connect far more with real moments than stock imagery.

If you’re looking for a Birmingham corporate photographer to capture authentic workplace photography: whether during an office launch, refurbishment, or day-to-day operations, I’d be delighted to discuss how we can tell your story naturally and professionally.
